Adult: (ages 18 and over)
PRIZES:
Prizes in the adult division are: First ($150), Second ($100), and Third ($50). All winners will be published in The Collective Consciousness, the quarterly journal of The Writers’ Collective.
RULES:
Only original, unpublished poetry may be submitted, maximum 42 lines per poem. Poems should be typed, using spacing of poet’s choice, one side only, on 8.5 x 11 inch white paper. Author’s real name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript. Minimum of 3 poems per entry, maximum of 6. Enter as often as you like, only one prize awarded per person. Each new entry of 3-6 poems should include an entry fee. Fee is $10 per entry, $5 for Writers’ Collective members. Submit three copies of each poem. Entries must be postmarked by October 31st, 2008.
Complete the form below and include it with your entry. Photocopy for multiple entries. A written evaluation of your entry is available for an additional fee of $20; cheques made payable to the Writers’ Collective. Please allow 10-12 weeks from contest deadline date for evaluations. Include an email address to receive a list of winners. Manuscripts will not be returned. All entrants not complying with these rules will be disqualified. Winners will be notified by phone in late November. Winning entries will be celebrated at an awards evening date to be announced.
