Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Enter your photo pledges today alongside already pledged images by renowned World Photography Organisation Academy members such as Bruce Davidson, Mary Ellen Mark, Jonathan Torgovink and Reza, as well as UNICEF Ambassadors such as Ewan McGregor, David Beckham and Jemima Kahn.

RESTRICTIONS and REQUIREMENTS
* Photo editing: There is no information about any restrictions.
* All entrants must be able to supply a high resolution image suitable for printing in media and an exhibition should the image be required.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
o You are the sole owner and author of each Entry
o You have the right to make Your entry available to the Competition
o Each Entry does not contain personally identifiable information about You or any other person(s)
o Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content
o Each Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity, and Your Entry does not include: (a) trademarks owned by third parties; (b) copyrighted materials owned by third parties (including movie dialogue or musical compositions); (c) names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead; (d) Entries which contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than that of WPA. (e) Entries containing screen credits.
o You confirm that each person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.
YOUR RIGHTS AS A PHOTOGRAPHER
o WPA recognizes You, the author of the image, retain full ownership of the copyright in each Entry.
o All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by WPA, UNICEF and its Event Partners, for marketing and promotional purposes of the event and “Children’s Rights” campaign only, for a maximum of three years after the awards ceremony on 22nd April 2010. You hereby grant WPA a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence in each Entry throughout the world for three years in all media for any use connected to the promotion of the SWPA event and/or the UNICEF “Children’s Rights” campaign.
o Any photograph used by WPA shall carry a credit line. Any failure to provide such credit line shall not be deemed to be a breach, as long as WPA uses its reasonable endeavours to rectify such failure within a reasonable period from the date of notice of such failure.
THEME
The theme is "Children’s Rights".
Submit a single image which portrays one of the five fundamental rights of a child:
* a childhood
* be educated
* be healthy
* be treated fairly
* be heard
Each entrant may submit a single image per pledge and submit up to 5 separate pledges.
If you are 19 years or older, enter The Public Campaign.
If you are 12-18 years old, enter Youth Award.

WINNING PHOTOGRAPHS
What you win depends on your age:
> Public Campaign (19 and older)
Your images will automatically be entered into the official campaign gallery.
Your photo pledge may also be selected by our international media partners for publication around the world in support of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child and as part of a special exhibition in Cannes during the 2010 Sony World Photography Awards and World Photography Festival.
> Youth Award (12-18 old)
One young person from each of the 6 continents of the world will be chosen as global youth representatives; one representative will be chosen from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa/Middle East and Australasia.
Finalists (6x) receive a two day trip to Cannes, France during the Sony World Photography Awards and World Photography Festival, where they will:
* Experience the Festival – outdoor photography exhibitions by artists from around the world, film screenings, student programmes and much more.
* Be mentored by renowned World Photography Academy Members, spend a day learning about photography and get to know the other young photographers in the programme.
* Be awarded on the grand stage of the Sony World Photography Awards – all 6 young photographers will be welcomed onto the big stage to receive their award from Reza and a UNICEF Ambassador.
Finalists will also be awarded a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Ethiopia for a 5-day photographic workshop complete with mentoring from acclaimed photographer and humanitarian Reza.
The field trip is run in conjunction with EYE SEE, a photo-project that gives children all over the world, training so they may learn photographic skills. It is supported by Sony Corporation and the Japan Committee for UNICEF and the goal of its workshop in Ethiopia is to teach children photography techniques and provide them with a fun and compelling tool with which to capture compelling images.
